At Focus, we know that the first photo session with your baby is irreplaceable - you’ll never see your child like this again. And we treat you newborn session like the milestone it is, with plenty of time for your baby to get comfortable.
Our Newborn FineArt Session is for babies under one month - ideally, under two weeks. Our studio is conveniently located down the street from both Mercy Hospital and Maine Medical Hospital here in Portland, and the perfect time to come for your babies FineArt Newborn session is on your way home from the hospital.
Like our FineArt Belly Session, our Newborn session focuses on dramatic lighting, black and white artistic images, and the little details of newborns that change so fast.
Parents should wear black shirts, and bring a change of clothing to wear home (accidents happen with nudie newborns...) Some images may be bare-chested for both mom and dad, and we can also create a nursing portrait during this session if you like.
Even though you’ll see changes every day during your baby’s first year, we want you to bring she or he to us for the three big changes. We hope you're already choosing Focus for your newborn session - these are the other three sessions we recomend during baby's first year.
Pushing themselves up; sitting on their own (and crawling); and standing and taking their first steps.
Push–Up (usually 3 or 4 months) - this is expressions and eyes. As your baby grows, she develops the muscles to prop her head up, and we get to see her smile develop.
Sitting–Up (6 or 7 months) - Now that he can crawl and sit (alone or assisted), we have a different accomplishment to capture. Our favorite sessions involve paper-weight babies, who can be placed in one spot, and just sit there and laugh and smile. Interestingly enough, parents seem there most rested at this session...
Standing–Up (12 months) - Nearly twice her birth size, your daughter can pull herself upright, and with something to hold onto, she can even stand on her own. A milestone to complete the year.
Our three first year sessions (Push-up, Sit-Up, and Stand-up) are each $120, or are available together as Baby's First Year Plan for just $240.
Our Baby's First Year Plan also includes a framed 10"x20" composite panel, with one image from each of the three sessions. Three sessions during your baby's first year, and a framed portrait panel, would normally cost over $600, but they're available together for only $240!!
Our FineArt Newborn Session ($180) is available in combination with our FineArt Belly Session ($180) for $260 (a $100 savings).
Our best value for baby portraits is our I Want It All plan, which combines both FineArt Sessions, all three First Year Sessions, the 10"x20" framed composite of the First Year Sessions, and a custom produced DVD ImageShow with all your favorite images from each of the five sessions.
Purchased seperately, these items would total $1400, but the I Want It All price is just $450! That's a savings of $950, and an outstanding baby shower present.
